Uses For Essential Oils As Requested By You!

I have been receiving so many questions about essential oils and all their amazing benefits that I thought I would put a post together on some simple uses and how to get your hands on them.

I have been using essential oils since my early twenties when I went through a period of terrible anxiety. They seemed to help me immensely and I still find they are very calming whenever I stress out.

This is where my journey with natural health began.

I have listed some single oils, some blends and some specific issues and what you could try for them…

So without further ado, here are some uses and benefits for essential oils (and some other cool products too).

  • Diffuse for relaxation
  • Add a few drops to your pillow (or your child’s) for a restful sleep – seriously, my son sleep’s double his normal time with this one 🙂
  • Ditto for the bath or shower for relaxation
  • Use undiluted on burns for relief

  • Add a drop to your moisturiser for smooth, plump skin and to reduce fine lines & wrinkles
  • Frank is my fave oil, I love the smell and I love how relaxed it makes me feel

  • Great to add to cleaning bottles (or make your own cleaning products with lemon and vinegar) for  it’s antibacterial properties
  • Detoxifier – can be diffused
  • Cleanser – can be diffused

And some of my favourite blends...

  • This one is called ‘monthly blend for women’ because it helps with PMS like symptoms such as mood swings, irritability as well as nausea and stomach cramps. You just dab it on your wrists, neck or wherever else you like and I have noticed it also doubles as a perfume!
  • It also alleviates menopausal symptoms such as hot flushes and hormonal imbalances

  • This is another one that can double up as a perfume (with health benefits)
  • Assists with feelings of anxiety, nervousness and stress
  • Diffuse in your car for a calmer drive in traffic

Some specific conditions and what may be helpful  (in conjunction with your medical advice of course)

Being a lifelong sufferer of this terribly annoying skin condition, I feel I am extremely qualified or experienced to give advice on this one…

Lavender (again) – Lavender EO has antiseptic, antibacterial, antifungal, calming, moisturizing, and anti-inflammatory properties. It speeds up healing and prevents or reduces scarring of the skin. It is one of the best oils to treat skin issues and smells great. Lavender EO is safe to use undiluted on small areas. Apply a few times a day until healed.

along with this, eczema is usually related to food/chemical sensitivities, allergies and gut issues so probiotics, a diet minimizing gluten, dairy and sugar and reducing your exposure to chemicals seriously helps this one from the inside out (and has helped me amazingly)

please note I am still a sweet tooth and can’t help myself sometimes…I’m only human lol.

This is another one I feel I can give advice on from experience. While I have never suffered from depression, I did, as I said earlier, go through a patch in my early twenties of terrible anxiety.

The oils that helped me where the blends. Ones I made up and ones you could buy ready.

The balance blend listed above is for this specifically and there is also one called JOY/ELEVATION – Elevation is the perfect blend for those moments when you need to be revitalized. This exciting blend provides an invigorating combination of essential oils that can elevate your mood and increase your energy. Elevation combines the uplifting and euphoric floral scents of Lavandin, Lavender, Melissa, Ylang Ylang, and Osmanthus with Tangerine, Elemi, and Lemon Myrtle to create a unique blend that promotes a positive mood and energized mind and body. –
